Day 7: Human Stuff!

My daughter A had her Showcase last Sunday. Like RL, my mom had her take a class with Trumpets for the summer (on top of Volleyball classes).

Her teachers picked her to play Scuttle as they were doing The Little Mermaid (the Disney Broadway Musical). I had no idea my daughter could sing so well! To my knowledge, she could memorize lyrics, but to carry out a tune? Think do-re-mi in monotone, Lol! Just kidding!

I have a video of her singing "Human Stuff" on my Facebook page.

Seriously, we were all surprised! She even had a solo - Human Stuff (the script was cut short to one and a half hours for the showcase).

I can't tell you exactly how proud I felt! There was my daughter on stage - singing so well! On top of that, she made my parents (my mom most especially) soooo proud!

Thank You, Lord, for talent. What a blessing!

Day 2: Mogu-Mogu!

Since my daughter A mentioned that my youngest brother, KA, gave her a big bottle of Mogu-Mogu once, I've been on the lookout for one. See, this is A's favorite drink. But so far, I've only seen the small bottles. A says my brother got the big bottles from Shoppersville, but so far, three separate visits to the Katipunan grocery has proven futile.

Today, after his meeting with our finance director, Boss S comes into my room and tells me to pick a bottle from a bag he was carrying. Mogu-Mogu! The BIG bottles!

Turns out, he went to school with the local distributor, and today, the distributor met with Boss S and the finance director. So A, after 10,000 years, here's your big bottle of Mogu-Mogu Strawberry!

Mogu-Mogu!

Thank you, Boss!

The small things still count. What small blessing are you thankful for?

Break!

I am taking a break from the blog. I'm not quite sure if I can blog this week, given that it's that time of the year again and my daughter, A, has quarterly exams. But I will try!

Thanks! And I appreciate and covet your prayers for wisdom, patience and perseverance. For both A and me.

Day 26: Tayo!

My little boy is crazy over Korean animation - Pororo, Chiro, Cocomong, Tayo, etc. Because of this, I've been trying to find Tayo toys for him for over a month now. Apparently, there are no sellers, and if there are, they rob you of your hard-earned moolah (mahalia!).

Well, my SP friend CP went to Korea last week and got her little boy a ton of Tayo toys. She posted photos on Instagram and I asked her about the toys. Turns out, she knows of a seller here! So I went to this secret place owned by a Korean last Sunday to check out this seller's store... Lo and behold, Pororo heaven!

And she sold Tayo toys, too. Her prices are okay, pricey compared to other toys, but way, way cheaper than those selling original Korean toys online. All her items are original and from Korea.

Tayo, Tayo... Tayo, Tayo... he's a friendly little bus!

This was actually the highlight of my Sunday, aside from finding the Yum Yum Bento Box book at the Fully Booked! Booth at the Manila International Bookfair. I got A really excited with this book. She loves it when I make time to make her lunch.

This made the trek to SMX (on MOA's sale weekend!) all worth it.

It makes me happy to see my kids happy. What makes your day?

Day 13: The Freebie Almost Didn't Make It

Well, yeah. ALMOST.

I recently got a new Citibank Credit Card, and had purchased the iPad with it. A few weeks after the purchase, I had received a text informing me that I had qualified for the FREE Rudy Project Viaggatore luggage, worth P8,500.

I had filled up the voucher requirements online and made mental note to get it a week after I had printed out the claim voucher.

Alas, I had only noticed the fine print yesterday. Nyar.

The Voucher states that I "may only redeem on the date specified".

I had specified Saturday, September 1, as my date of redemption. But because of all the things we did Saturday, I had forgotten about the voucher. I was praying for consideration when I called up their Trinoma store last night.

"Walang problema, Ma'am", the nice guy on phone replied after I had asked about my dilemma.

So after meeting a friend after work yesterday, I rushed off to Trinoma to claim my Rudy Project Viaggatore luggage.

The FREE Rudy Project Viaggatore Luggage from Citibank.

This carry-on bag is made of Polycarbonate, and has spinner wheels. A was delighted to see that she no longer has to drag the noisy Samsonite carry-on the next time we travel (the wheels need repair).

Thank You, Lord, once again for never letting me down! And for considerate hearts. And yes, for this FREE bag.

Day 5: Ironman and Thor!

I am blessed to have brothers who dote on my kids. Today, my brother KM took A down to Nuvali in Sta. Rosa to bike. A recently learned how to ride a two-wheeler, and just loves going around with my brother, his fiancee C, and C's nephew, E.

Happy biker!
Meanwhile, my little brother KA went to an arcade and won RL a small Ironman plush. He went to that arcade at Summit Ridge in Tagaytay, just so he could win something for RL.

With Ironman and Thor! Rawr! LOL!
We later went back and won another Thor Plush from the Claw Machine.

I am blessed to have two brothers who love and care for my family.

What are you thankful for today?

Day 4: FitFlop Prize!

I finally had time to swing by Trinoma last Sunday, and I finally was able to claim my special prize from FitFlop!

My special prize included a FitFlop shirt, a FitFlop pouch and a FitFlop lanyard.

Of course, my daughter A claimed all these as hers. Lol!

With the blessing God has given you, how were you, in return, a blessing to others?

Day 3: One Direction Swag!

A loves One Direction! I won this DVD at the Zed booth during Jayesslee's concert last week. We finally got to watch this yesterday.

Freebies are cool surprises! Did you win anything lately?

Day 18 and 19: Good Health

I know I mentioned that my little boy was sick over the weekend. And that his fever went away Sunday morning. But it was back a bit on Monday night and then again Tuesday morning. So much so that I got so paranoid just thinking about it yesterday.

It's so hard to have kids who are sick. And to top it off, we have that Dengue epidemic (I don't care what the government wants to call it, but to me, it is what it is) that scares the heck out of me. A was sick Thursday last week, and was sent home from school. Friday, it was RL's turn. So can you imagine my paranoia when his fever recurred Monday evening? (Read: Dengue Scare)

So for Monday, I am thankful to have a pediatrician who loves and cares for my kids - a pediatrician who is on call, who gives out her mobile number so she can reassure you on your child's condition.

I'd rather be sick than have my kids go through it. I get so paranoid!

And because my son's fever didn't recur after his last bout with it at 7am yesterday, I am thankful that RL is okay. No more fever. No more colds. I think we can rule this fever out as his body fighting off the onset of a bad cold? Nevertheless, he is well and that's what counts.

Prayer is the best medicine. Thank you, Lord!

Day 6: After Years of Searching...

...I finally found another Signs and Symbols poster!

When A was a year old, I bought a similar poster and had her learn all the signs for the Alphabet. In a week, she knew them by heart. This was how I taught her spelling and eventually, how to read. So when RL came along, I wanted the same poster. But I searched NBS for this poster, and they no longer had it. The truth is, I hardly ever look anymore. RL has baby signing books, and he's mastered his signs. But we're currently teaching him the Alphabet and letter-recognition, and it would have been great to use the Signs and Symbols poster.

A needed a new Philippine Map for tomorrow's AP test (we can't find the one supplied by her school). So after lunch today, I decided to check out NBS Quezon Avenue. Was looking through the poster rack for maps, and there it was, a stack of Signs and Symbols posters!

Signs and Symbols Poster - P25.00! Cheap, too!

I know it isn't a big deal, but I am so happy! Hahaha!

Are you happy with even the smallest of blessings? Count it all joy!

Day 2: Hand-Me-Downs

This post is meant for yesterday. But I couldn't log onto Globe yesterday. The good news is, after placing a call to the hotline and ranting a good 5 minutes to the lady who took my call (and a dozen of apologies later), I finally got connected!

Anyway, back to my Day 2 post. My cousin K sent me a message on FB last week, asking me if I wanted her daughter's hand-me-downs for A. Not that A doesn't have enough clothes, but I said sure anyway. A gets her clothes from 2 sources: HongKong and hand-me-downs. Having an older sister sure has its perks. Especially if the older sister has store credit spelled as G-R-A-N-D-M-A. LOL! Now, we add older girl cousins to the list. Hehe.

So last week, my cousin W (K's husband) brings this huge plastic bag of clothes to the office. I checked the loot and at the bottom of the pile was a pair of ZooYorks! In white, too!

A has been telling me how her PE teacher has been telling her that sneakers aren't allowed for PE use. And that she had to get a good pair of white rubber shoes. We've been putting off the purchase for over a month now, and getting by with her Chucks (sometimes her teacher fails to notice), until finally, I took home the pair of ZooYorks, to her utmost delight!

White ZooYorks in a size 7 - perfect!

So yes, thankful for cousins who think of my kids. And hand-me-downs that save us from dents to the wallet. Perfect blessing! Thanks!

How has your family blessed you today?
