Day 38: An Extra Day!

My office mate ordered a NappyCake for Chef Bruce, whose wife had given birth to their second son. I had been busy those days with work and the S&R Sale (hehe) that I couldn't find time to finish this cake on time. That plus, she had tasked me to put together a gift basket of ge-lai stuff. But God is good and He knows exactly what we need and when we need it. I was given an extra day to finish the cake!

Excuse the mess! Hehe, I have a toddler in the house!

I realize I posted this photo on a previous entry, but this cake is the one I made for Chef Bruce, so I'm posting again. Hehe.

What does extra time mean to you? For me, it is a precious blessing! I need more than 24-hours in a day!

Day 35: Delivery!

I had deliveries to make for NappyCakes. But I also had a ton of things up my sleeve. The S&R Sale was happening the next day, and I needed to go home and prepare for it. I was initially planning on going to Robinsons Galleria to deliver the NappyCake orders Tuesday evening after work. A quick MMDA App check revealed how traffic it was on EDSA, both Southbound and Northbound.

As I was about to leave the office, I thought to ask a colleague if he was passing by Galleria the next day. Our liaison does rounds of the stores throughout the week, and I thought maybe he could bring the cakes for me instead.

This isn't the cake I had delivered. I failed to take a photo. Oops.

And he said yes as he had Galleria on his itinerary the next day! Yay! That sure saved me a trip and allowed me to plan for Members' Treat.

GOD IS GOOD!

Day 34: Catching Fire!

Aside from sleep, another luxury for me is getting to read AND finish a book. What with my messed-up schedule, I hardly find the time, nor the energy, to read.

I started reading Catching Fire - the sequel to Hunger Games, over 2 months ago. I took the book to the salon and read through a few chapters while getting a color. However, since life took a turn towards stressful, I forgot about the book until I picked it up again recently to while away the hours at a party we had to attend.

Mixed reviews for the sequels to Hunger Games.
But I enjoyed Catching Fire and Mockingjay, mainly because I didn't expect much
after reading the reviews. ;) Looking forward to catching this on the big screen soon!

I finally (FINALLY!) got to read it through and finished it at 2 in the morning, Monday (last week). Yay! A book relaxes me. I would read a book everyday if I could. So thankful I got to finish one after so many months! As of this writing, I actually got to finish Mockingjay as well.

Read any good books lately?

Day 11: Coupon Saturday

I've been holding on to a coupon for months now. But because of work and a full schedule, I couldn't take the kids to use the coupons. Last week, my schedule saw some light, and I was finally able to use the coupons (which were expiring over the weekend, by the way).

At Fun Ranch's Playdium.
After a weeknight using the Fun Ranch Playdium coupon, the kids were excited to use their coupons for Wowowheels. I had initially thought we weren't going to make it Saturday afternoon, since Kuya Kim had said 80% chance of rain. I said a little prayer and drove to Eton Centris.

Broom-broom! I had to ride with RL, but stepped off to take this pic.

Alas, we got to ride for a good hour without rain, then the next hour with a little drizzle. But Eton has those big shades that keep you from getting wet, so we were able to ride at ease.

That evening, we went to get Mickey groomed at Furry Tails. Used a coupon I had purchase for P990 for 5 sessions. We almost didn't make it to the evening's cut-off, but the owner graciously allowed us to get Mickey groomed.

I love how God makes a way, even when there seems to be no way.

Day 3: Extra Time!

Many of us are quick to count material blessings, but fail to see the other things that come in disguise.

My little boy RL has been fretting about spending more time with his friend, C - daughter of our family friends A & E. We're headed out of town tomorrow with my folks, so RL doesn't have the weekend to play with C. They're here only until Thursday, as they head back to Okinawa (where E is based as a US Navy nurse), and then eventually, back to the US. So this might quite be their last trip back to the Philippines until who-knows-when.

RL & C - best friends across the miles.
We went out for dinner last night and had discussed tentative plans for next week (so much to do, so little time). Needless to say, RL was sad he won't get to play with C over the long weekend.

But wait! God knows the desires of our hearts! He knows the desire of RL's heart! Just a few minutes ago, I got a text to let me know that we will only be out 'til Sunday, since the hotel couldn't confirm our booking for Sunday night. Yay! That means, we will be back to spend time with our friends on Monday! And the whole day, too, since I won't have work!

God knows. Aren't you thankful that He does?

Day 11: Quality Time.

I am a single parent. And single parents don't have all the time in the world. I am blessed to even have the energy to run errands after a full day's work. Yesterday, traffic was terrible on the way home. Apparently, the guys from DPWH just had to repair a whole stretch of concrete right at the mouth of the highway. WOW. The 15-minute drive took me more than an hour.

But blessed little ol' me, my little boy was still awake when I got home. After dinner, I had the chance to run a few errands with him. We had a few serious conversations, too.

My little boy makes me laugh! Conversations like this one are priceless.

I am blessed to have a funny toddler who erases all trace of exhaustion. Thank you, Lord for RL!

Extra time is rare in my family. The extra minutes are blessings! Have you been blessed with the "extras" today?
